History of Cafe Baci
The Mei Family’s culinary beginnings started in Rome, Italy with a successful restaurant “Trattoria Mei” located in Trastivere. In 1952, the Mei’s opened the first Northern Italian Restaurant in Manhattan “Fontana di Trevi” on West 57th Street in New York City and Roma Di Notte on East 55th Street.
In 1991, Roberto Mei established Café Baci in Sarasota. Roberto, with his talent, imagination and all the right ingredients has won the respect of residents and visitors to this city ever since.
